Lawton confirm they will not be involved with the Oxford Labs
In a statement emailed to the campaign, Managing Director Jim Lawton has confirmed that his firm (Lawton Building Engineering Services) intend to have nothing to do with the Oxford animal lab in the future. Today, 30 people turned up for an excellent demo outside the half built labs. For the second week in a row the site is quiet, which buoyed us up even further. We are definitely stronger than we realise! Never has silence sounded so good. So, Oxford University has still to find a new builder, and even if they do, the reply from Lawton sounds they might have problems finding the necessary specialist subcontractors they need to finish the job. So the University are struggling and we must renew our efforts to prevent work starting once again on the site.
