On The Edge - Demo report Sat 21st October
We met up as the National March & Rally began: after splitting up into four separate groups, armed with placards and banners, we travelled around the ring road stopping off at the many roundabouts and lay byes for mini demos, and bridges for banner drops, spurred on by the regular reports we received about how brilliantly the main demo was going. The level of support was immense, with almost every other motorist showing their support by hooting their horns or waving at us. Such behaviour is a clear indication that, despite the attempts by the Oxford University 'Jack Boot' to supress our voice, our message, it is clearly getting out to the public, and more importantly, the public are listening. The vivisectors and their friends in the government try to spin the lie that the vast majority of the public support vivisection: this is just not true and the numbers supporting us are growing all the time. Even the police escort commented on the amazing response and support we were receiving. This demo was a clear indication that no matter how hard Oxford University and their friends in high places try, we will not be silenced, and no amount of threats and bullying will prevent us from achieving our goal of ending legalised animal torture in the laboratories of Oxford. |
