We would like to thank everyone who travelled to London today to support us; it gave us a fantastic boost to see so many friendly faces outside the Court. The demonstration numbered about 150 people and made for a very powerful presence with banners and placards. This coupled with the constant chanting must have once again showed that despite their best efforts Oxford University are never going to defeat us. As well as the inspiring crowd outside the High Court, the public gallery in the Court was also packed with supporters. On Thursday we will return to the High Court safe in the knowledge that so many good people are prepared to stand up and fight for the voiceless and against greed and self interest. For us the possibility of going to prison remains, but this pales into insignificance when you consider the future 'Felix' faces at the hands of the 'fanatics' at Oxford University. Together we can and will overcome the arrogance and self interest that condemns 'Felix' and millions of other animals to a life of pain and suffering. Oxford University's behaviour in bringing these contempt proceedings has been nothing short of a disgrace. Oxford University has used every underhand tactic at their disposal in order to try and jail SPEAK's two founders using nothing more than lies in order to try and convince the Courts to imprison two people who have done nothing wrong and who have broken no laws. Hope to see you Thursday. Together we can and will win. Demonstration starts at 10am but will go on all day. If you can spare some time, please come down to the High Court and support the 'SPEAK Two'. |
