What has happened to Edmund Rolls? It has been brought to our attention by various sources that Edmund Rolls, the prominent Oxford University vivisector formerly based in its Department of Experimental Psychology, has been sacked or asked to resign from his posts as fellow and tutor of Corpus Christi College following Visitatorial Board proceedings. It would appear that the university are trying to keep this news quiet, protecting themselves and Rolls from any questions or scandal. It is a pity that they do nothing to protect the countless numbers of animals that suffer and die in cruel and worthless experiments at the hands of Rolls and his fellow animal researchers in the university’s laboratories. While those seeking to expose the truth about the appalling catalogue of animal abuse carried out by Oxford University are persecuted and vilified, Rolls and his associates are left to carry out their barbaric experiments in secrecy and anonymity. It is our belief that Rolls is the professor who was investigated by Thames Valley Police for cruelty against a monkey in his laboratory in November 2004. This monkey was kept alive, against the advice of a university vet, despite being in unimaginable pain due to a severe brain infection, as Rolls considered her to be ’an asset’. It was not until a Home Office official stepped in that eventually the monkey was euthanized, having suffered a long period of agony. We have received many other accounts of this man’s cruel and arrogant behaviour, any of which should have lead to his dismissal, which begs the question of Oxford University; why are you hiding the truth about what has happened to Edmund Rolls? |
