Oxford injuncting their own students

Thursday's weekly demonstration outside the site of the proposed new animal research centre exposed a sinister development when employees of a private security firm working for Oxford University served the injunction order on a theology student who had stopped to talk to the demonstrators. The student was not a supporter of the campaign but still he was issued with an order that technically now prevents him from entering the buildings where he both studies and lives.

These new tactics by the University and those employed to do their dirty work only serves to illustrate the true nature of the injunction. Far from it being an injunction that will prevent illegal action as the university would like people to believe, although no one else appears to be under that illusion. The truth is that the university wish to suppress people's rights to either talk about the proposed building on South Parks Rd as this incident clearly illustrates and the desire to curtail people's rights within a democratic society to protest within a legal framework.

Oxford University have been exposed in the past for telling a catalogue of lies to the people of Oxford. Now their true nature is being illustrated and their desire to suppress and intimidate any person or organisation who does not agree with them has entered a new and sinister phase.
