The audio clips you are about to hear finally explode the myth that Thames Valley Police are an impartial police force. The audio clips clearly illustrate that the confrontation that ensued on Saturday can be blamed solely on the disgraceful behaviour of Thames Valley Police and that Thames Valley Police are a force exclusively under the influence of Oxford University!

On Saturday 14th January, Thames Valley Police brutally suppressed a peaceful demonstration, a demonstration that had been months in the planning. Three months ago SPEAK negotiators were promised that the route for Saturday's demonstration would include a 30 minute stop outside the partially built lab. In subsequent meetings the police reaffirmed their commitment to allow the demonstration to proceed to the partially built lab. The audio clips are extracts from a meeting held on the 5th January just a week before Saturday’s demonstration.

Listen to the clips and judge for yourself who is to blame for the problems that arose on the demonstration. Two questions now remain to be answered. Firstly, were the officers present at the meeting aware that the agreement reached and the promises made by them were never going to be adhered to, in which case they are little more than liars? Or, secondly, is there something more sinister afoot? For months now we have witnessed a police force obviously dancing to the tune of Oxford University. If the police negotiating team were genuine in their statements at the meeting on the 5th January, then what forces have been at work to undermine those officers?

SPEAK wonders how those police officers present at Saturday's demonstration feel about being nothing more than lackeys to Oxford University. Were they told that they would be suppressing a demonstration that had been agreed upon for 3 months? Were they told that they would be attacking a crowd made up of many women, children and the elderly?
